I always try to get my brother and sister-in-law. They are so gullible bless their hearts. Jill had asked me to pick up Jacey from preschool. I called her with the "dead battery" excuse. She hurried and called her friend to go pick up Jacey. Not to mention, she didn't seem too stressed about me being stranded with a dead battery! I had already picked up her daughter and had Jacey call her saying "April Fools". Well, I better run. I have to go short-sheet the kids' beds before they get home from young men. Not to mention the raisin I put in their toothpaste tube. Can't wait for that one. Happy April Everyone!!

April Fools!
April Fools has got to be one of my favorite holidays. Is it a holiday? Maybe that's why I like it. No presents, no baking required. Just good ol' fashioned fun. I started my day at 4:30 am. I went running downstairs, unplugged Ethan's alarm clock, and told him it was 6:55, and he was going to miss the bus. He jumped out of bed, hopped in the shower, got dressed, and came running up to a sign saying "April Fools". I then decided to do my annual "Crisco on the doorknobs." The kids fall for that one every time. I got back into bed and told Blake that Aggie had just thrown up all over in the garage, and it didn't look like she was breathing. He jumped out of bed, and went into the kitchen only to see the same sign. I was awake, so I decided to put saran wrap on the toilets. That's always a fun one. Supe falls for that one every year also. Kind of messy, but worth it. The kids all ate blue cold cereal, and sluggishly went to school.

How fun Alison! I do feel a little sorry for your kids though...
You are so hilarious!! Your post made me laugh so hard. Thanks for making my April Fools Day!!
I knew we were friends... we sortof think alike! :):):):) And I don't feel bad for your family AT ALL... it's the one day where we as moms get to act like kids. And do something crazy... that makes us totally happy. PLUS pretty sure it's us that cleans up the messes afterwards... right! I'll be posting about my day soon...
You are a great prankster! It sounds like you had a lot of fun.
You are SUCH a stinker. And I fall for it EVERY year. I even had Jim, Josh and Jenessa warn me as they left for the day....be ready mom, Alison WILL be calling- BE READY! And you somehow convince me every year that it's not a joke. Ethan really missed the bus, you really have a dead battery or flat tire, your really were bitten by the Axtells dog. I am SO not falling for it next year. I am telling you. And yes, I was concerned that you were stranded at the SA. I just had to take care of getting Jacey picked up out of the cold first. That's all.
Wow, you are quite the prankster!
Thanks for visiting my blog. You asked about the recipe for the creamy ranch chicken. I actually made it tonight for the first time, but I am going to tweak it a little before I post it. Hopefully some time next week.
I hope I'm never on your April Fool's radar. Gullible is my middle name. I just never see them coming. Although this year I did pull one on the student council at Cedar Ridge. I read a letter saying that the school district would be going to a four day week, but extending the school year. For 09/10 the school year would begin on July 25th and end on June 28th. Some actually fell for it! You, however, take the cake!
silly girl, tricks are for kids! :)
